This land acknowledgement is offered to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ enduring connection to their traditional territories, to recognize the history of the land that is currently shared by many peoples, and to recognize stewardship as a shared responsibility of all those who reside in a territory.
We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture and committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and respect with all First Nation, Métis and Inuit people. The regions we serve are home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we recognize that we must do more to learn about the rich history of this land so that we can better understand our roles as residents, neighbours, partners and caretakers.
We invite readers to take a moment to learn more about how CTN’s land acknowledgement was developed and how to share it thoughtfully and meaningfully. Visit our website to read the full story and explore CTN’s Land Acknowledgement and Guidelines.
At CTN, supporting kids, youth and families has always been at the centre of our work. This year’s theme, Supporting Families, Strengthening Communities, reflects the strength of our network. In collaboration with our partners across health, education and community services, we work together to provide coordinated, meaningful support for approximately 42,000 kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs and their families.
In 2025, we marked an important milestone – 20 years of collectively supporting all kids. We celebrated with an inclusive birthday party that brought together kids, families, partners, employees and community members for a joyful day of connection, celebration and fun. It was also an important moment to reflect on what it truly means to make a difference in the lives of families. Over the past 20 years, we have seen the impact of our work through the many services we deliver and the way families experience care. The celebration was a reminder that when families feel they belong and can access coordinated support through a strong network; communities are stronger too.
Together with our partners, we continued to advance CTN’s strategic priorities in ways that strengthen our ability to respond to the evolving needs of kids, youth and families. We advanced shared practices and enhanced the systems that supported connected service delivery. We also promoted inclusion, accessibility and culturally responsive care, across our regions.
Collaborative relationships extend beyond our network. This past year, we’ve welcomed representatives from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), including the Minister, Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Minister as well as local Members of Provincial Parliament to our sites and events. These opportunities for meaningful dialogue help deepen the understanding of the experiences of the families we serve and the supports they need today and in the future. We also took part in the province’s pre-budget consultations, where we shared the realities families face, including growing wait times and demand for services, while highlighting the importance of sustained investment in care.
Our work is made possible because of the families who share their experiences, the partners who collaborate with us to deliver high-quality services and the employees that enable our vision and reflect our values every day. Together, we are strengthening communities and supporting families through a network that truly works together so that all kids, youth and families can belong.

“Myron loves going to school and using his Tobii device to communicate with his friends. He enjoys meeting people, and the device helps him connect with teachers and classmates who are always happy to support him. It’s also a great teaching tool. We use it to help Myron learn simple words and pictures, and he even enjoys using it as entertainment during break time. We appreciate the assistance and support from the CTN Family Fund. Thank you so much.” – Myron’s Family
